BMW G 310 GS Review In Malayalam
My views on the latest BMW G310GS looking from an ownership point of view.
Why off roading vehicles shouldn't have ABS.
The reason is that when braking offroad you almost never have a firm surface so the critical part to braking is in how the tires dig into the surface. Unlike a paved surface you can skid very easily, with little force from the brakes. So you need to live with this skidding, and use it to help you drive under control.
An ABS designed for hard surfaces would be continually detecting skidding, and would thus release/modulate brake pressure continually. And this would lead to very inefficient braking. You would get more efficient braking by deliberately locking up the wheels, and letting them in effect “dig into” the surface, and thus brake that way.
